      Dear Sir/Madam,

      It’s our pleasure to invite you to International Maritime Law Forum held in Guangzhou Zhu Jiang Hotel on Friday 8th October 2010—Sunday 10th October 2010. The event is endorsed by Maritime Law Committee of China Lawyers’ Association and organized by Guang Yu & Co.

      The maritime law forum is one of the Maritime Law Committee of China Lawyers’ Association regular’s events which is attended by up to 200 of our members. With the development of the shipping industry, the group of maritime lawyers is growing larger and larger every year. Meanwhile, the relationship within lawyers, insurers, ship builders and maritime trail is being drawn closer and closer. On this occasion, we would like to hear all kinds of opinions from academic and practice

      Topics include but not limited to the following:

      1. Legal issues in the maritime limitation of liability and suggestions to judicial interpretation of the Supreme Court of China.

      2. Legal issues in disputes arising from compensation of oil pollution damages and suggestions to the judicial interpretation of the Supreme Court of China.

      3. Controversial, difficulties and leading theory and practice of marine insurance, collision, salvage and wreck removal, bills of lading, etc.

      4. Strategies and techniques of international maritime arbitration.

      Papers:

      1. The closing day of paper submission is 1st August 2010.

      2. Please send your paper to information@gyuco.com with your name, company and contact details. Please confirm with us by e-mail or phone after submission.

      3. The Maritime Law Committee will invite maritime law experts, senior lawyers to read the papers and the Forum will select out of them a first prize, two second prizes, five third prizes and some recognition awards. Some of the awarded authors will be invited to speak in the forum.

      Attendees include:

      Supreme People Court of P.R.C, Guangdong Higher Court, Guangdong MSA, Guangzhou Maritime Court, China Lawyers’ Association, Guangdong Lawyers’ Association, Guangzhou Lawyers’ Association, the maritime judges, experts, members of China and Guangdong Maritime Law Committee, senior maritime lawyers, shipping professionals, mariners and insurers.

      Please complete the enclosed registration form or you can download it from our website and return to e-mail address or fax it or mail it to us to ensure your reservation.

      Reception:

      The forum will be followed by a reception on 8th October 2010 with Guang Yu & Co. in the hall of Guangzhou Zhu Jiang Hotel.

      Forum Fees:

      The forum will open to all and charge ￥1000/person fee inclusive of the forum material cost and meals, but the travel and accommodation costs are not covered. If you register and make the payment before 15th Sep 2010, the concession ￥800/person is granted.

      Registration Cancellation Policy:

      Registrations are refundable for non-attendants. Refunds will be handled after the end of the forum.

      Note:

      1. If arrive to Guangzhou Bai Yun International Airport, you can take the No.6 Airport Express to Wei Jia Si Plaza and then take a taxi to Guangzhou Zhu Jiang Hotel.

      2. Please arrange the transportation after the forum by yourself. If you need help, please contact us or the business centre of the hotel in advance.

      3. A Guangzhou one-day trip or two-day trip of Pearl River Delta is scheduled after the forum (Monday 11th Oct 2010). The fee shall be paid separately and please confirm whether you join the trip in the registration form.
